This project is for everyone with an interest in growing – it is never too late to start and you can never learn everything.
As well as a love for growing plants, this project is driven by our concerns about the impacts of global heating. We aim to grow more food locally making our communities more resilient to the food insecurities that lie ahead.
We have been creating a map of our local growing community to see what it looks like and how we are connected. By visiting different growing spaces we are building our understanding and starting to connect with more growers across Weymouth. Visits to date have included a local garden, an allotment site and an off grid small holding. During these sessions there are opportunities to share the challenges we face and work out what practical steps we can take to help ourselves and one another.
